Cubic Boron Nitride (cBN) is the second hardest material after diamond, with the properties of high thermal stability and chemical resistance make it suitable for machining ferrous materials where synthetic diamond abrasives are not normally employed.
Cubic Boron Nitride (cBN) is a kind of superabrasive consist of Nitrogen and Boron atoms. The different color could be got through adjusting Nitride and Boron content during synthesizing process. By adjusting the TI (Tough Index) and TTI (Thermal Toughness Index), the friability and strength of the CBN can be controlled to match different working requirements.
CBN is firmly established in ‘tool and cutter’ grinding and in mass production grinding operations in the automotive, general engineering and aerospace industries. Application examples include camshafts, crankshafts, fuel injectors, transmission parts, gears, CV joints, power steering pump parts and compressor parts.
